Merkel combination gun imported by a f stoeger

I am hoping someone can positively identify the model of my combination gun. I understand it was imported in 1924 the first year possibly that A F STOEGER started importing guns. It is definitely a Merkel but which model. It is a 29 1/2" 12 gauge over a 30/30. Gun has cocking indicators, extractors, with a front set trigger. No sling swivels, or cheek piece. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Because the gun was made for the US trade, the chambering is a little unusual for the time. The 12 in a circle means it has a 12ga chamber, and the 70 next to it, means it is the current standard 70mm(2 3/4")long. The 13/1 is the bore diameter ahead of the chamber,expressed in guage measurement.The crown S means it was proofed for shot. The crown W means the barrel is choked, but the amount of choke is not shown(usually pretty tight).The crown U is for the "view"proof, which is a detailed inspection.The 7,5 mm is the bore(not groove or bullet) diameter. The 52 is the case length, in mm.This of course fits the 30-30 cartridge. The crown N, K.m.G,12gr, means it was proofed for a smokeless powder load with a 170grain,copper jacketed bullet. This is a nice gun, I hope you use and enjoy it.

Thank you Mike I really appreciate the information. Looking forward to getting it out to shoot. I'm guessing that there would be a limited number produced in 1924 for export to the U.S. Is there a model that closely matches this gun. I believe I paid a fair price, but am hoping to get an estimate on value, and know which model I own.

If I may ask, being that I am completely ignorant to Merkels, what tells you this is a Merkel?

Edited to add that not only am I ignorant, I'm also an idiot! I was so busy looking at the screws and engraving on the bottom of the receiver I didn't read the engraving!

No problem Nathem, don't beat yourself up. It is easy to do when you are admiring fine workmanship on guns.
