My name is Oscar Basch and I am from sunny South Africa. I am from German decent, my great grandfather hails from Breslau, Prussia.
My connection with the forum stems from my love of the 7x64 caliber. I was lucky enough to obtain a genuine Brenneke made in 1959 a couple of years ago. Will post pictures some time. For some 22 odd years I also owned and used a 1937 Type A Commercial Oberndorf Mauser in 9,3x62. This rifle I sold to a collector some years ago. Loved it, a wonderful caliber, but my interest turned toward wingshooting and I felt that someone else should become the custodian of such a remarkable rifle.
Looking forward to the company of like minded enthusiasts.
BTW. We leave on a three day springbok hunt in our Northern Cape province next week Wednesday. My 7x64 Brenneke will do it's magic once again.
