    Greetings all,

I have questions about another gun, it is not German but Czech.
My brother picked this piece up last week.
    It is a 16 2 9/16" and 6.5x52R.
The maker is "J. Rou,s" Plzen.
Marks show that it was proved in Prague, 1932, ledger number 496.
I would be interested in any information on this maker.

    Regards,

    Kevin

    Kevin,
This is a very nice gun. There are others in the GGCA more versed in Czech guns than I. For them to help,it will necessary to have clear photos of all the markings, especially proof marks. The gun clearly has German roots.Germany controled parts of the country over the years and were considered "German". One of my first, and best, German hunting friends had been from Suddantenland(? sp). He also had and hunted with a 6.5x52R(slightly altered version of 25-35 Win), before the War.I know this one is not it, his rests on the bottom of the Main River. This will be mentioned in an upcomming article about the 5.6x52R( 22 Sav.HP).If you are not already a member of the GGCA, it would be good to join now, so as to not miss the next publication( WAIDMANNSHEIL).
