  • WTT: Simson 16g Prewar Ejector

This is a very nice gun, and I’m perfectly happy keeping it, but I would also consider trades for it. I predominantly collect 1930’s-40’s guns and my favorites are o/u configuration, both Bockb?chseflinte and Bockdoppelb?chse, but I like purely shotguns as well. I’m mostly looking for JP Sauer, Greifelt, BSW, Gustloff, etc but I would consider any maker in this timeframe. I also largely collect Suhl Mausers in excellent condition or chambered in uncommon calibers.

The Simson is original overall with one minor exception, there is 1/2” of horn added under the original buttplate, it looks like it might be simply screwed in with the buttplate screws. This one was made for Iver Johnson in 1925 and is so marked on the rib. The bluing is excellent with a minor spot of loss on the right barrel near the breach. The stock is a higher grade of wood than you typically see and free of cracks. Overall this is a nice light 16g and not a low grade gun as can be seen. I have more pictures if anyone is interested in a possible trade.

    Themauserkid,
Considering the sad history of the Simsons and the connection to the BSW name, it would appear that this gun would fit right into your collection.

Now with an asking price, $2800 shipped OBO. The chambers are 2-9/16, the ejectors are timed perfectly, the LOP is 14-3/8. The left barrel is cylinder, the right is a light modified. The action is tight on face, and the barrels ring out nicely with zero dents.
