  • 39 rounds of RWS 9.3 X 72R ammo for sale

First, thank you to the website's monitors for allowing this post from a non member. In cleaning out some areas of my gun room I came across 39 rounds of RWS head stamped 9.3 X 72 R ammunition from a German drilling rifle that i inherited long ago. Since I do not collect these guns I no longer have it. The ammo remains . It does not have a factory box having been stored in a Sun Maid raisin box since before my taking possession. There is some very slight tarnish of the brass on some rounds. the projectile is a flat lead tipped possibly cupronickel jacketed slug. Jacketing is shiny chrome color. Since I am not a collector of these arms I am not familiar with the ammunition. I hope that someone here is and can use it. after research of present prices for Selier and Belot ammo I am pricing this at $100. + shipping to anywhere in the US that it is legal for you to receive the Ammo. Since I am trying to find this a home and not familiar with the ammo, I will offer a 3 day inspection period for return (your postage) if I have erred in some way. Thank you for your consideration.

    USKrag,
While I have sufficient, therefore don't need your ammo, it should be noted that it very well may be Berdan primed( given it's age). This may affect it's value.

Thanks, Mike . Upon closer inspection there are 10 rnds. that have a reddish copper primer with a lacquered crimp stamped RWS in script and the lead projectile tip is a darker grey. The remaining rnds. have what looks to be a standard primer silver colored, with a lighter grey (but not oxidized) lead projectile tip. I hope this has meaning to someone and they can use this stuff. If the price is too high for the market to bear, please let me know. As an aside , I see you are in East Alabama. I'm in Huntsville.

        USKrag,
If you ever go to Auburn on US 431, you will go right through LaFayette and be 2 blocks from my house. If you have some time to spare, let me know and stop by. I'm mostly into German guns, but I also like a lot of the other old ones. Whether the price of your ammo is too high doesn't depend on me, it depends on how badly someone needs it and how much he is willing to pay for it.

I'm an old Auburn guy. 1973-1977 . Been through Lafayette too many times to count ( pronounced " Lafett " I was corrected one time by a proud local) . It brings back many pleasant memories. Thanks for the invitation and I would love to visit with you, and if you ever come up this way the invite is reciprocal . I collect and study US Krag rifles and carbines. I accumulate all others and enjoy them. As for the price of the ammo, Money is not the most pressing issue. I genuinely thought that this stuff was rather rare and of value to you Drilling guys. I thought that i had priced it at a bargain. I apologize for it not being so. I'd like to find someone that can use it before I just take it to a gun show or otherwise dispose of it. If anyone wants to tender an offer, I don't insult easily. I would like to see this go to someone that can use it.

            USKrag,
There is no need to apologize, the price seems to be pretty much in line with what it costs, currently. It's just that I have some and don't shoot it, I handload most of what I use. The point about berdan primers was for other people. If I need to, I can load berdan primers( and do in other calibers), other people that might buy the ammo couldn't reload it, and should know it. For a lot of people, it is of value; and it wasn't that long ago that it was pretty rare. BTW, I was Class of 67, so I was there exactly 10 years ahead of you. My hunting buddies and I usually go to the gunshows in B'ham, maybe I'll se you there sometimes.
