I hunt with my Richard Marhoff & Sohn drilling every year. I use it mainly for whitetail deer and turkey. Many of my hunting buddies think I'm crazy for subjecting a gun worth many thousands of dollars to the rigors of the field, but I figure Herr Marhoff built the thing as a hunting gun, not a decoration. My drilling bears a few scars from the years my father (from whom I inherited the gun) hunted with it in Europe and the USA, and from the years I have hunted with it as well. So be it. It is as fine an example of the gun maker's art as I have ever seen and I will use it for it's intended purpose as long as I am able, and I hope my son does the same.
