Wisconsin Whitetail Hunt

Once again, my AKAH buchsflinte has contributed to a successful hunt here in west central Wisconsin. It is extremely satisfying to me to put guns like these back into the field, hunting game in the manner their builders intended.

Nice deer. What was your weapon of choice for this hunt? It looks to be a double rifle or perhaps a buchsflinte, can't quite make it out.

It's a buchsflinte, 16 gauge / 9.3 x 72R.

I need to watch this forum closer. Congrats Merv, nice buck and gun!! I was not successful so I get to eat "tag soup" again this year....unless my wife will share the venison from the deer she took. I dunno, however....as it was killed with a Savage 243 it probably won't taste as good....might have soured the meat.
