  • Successful Alaska hunt with drilling

I finally bloodied my drilling. During a long hunt outside Chicken, Alaska last month I managed to shoot a ruffed grouse, eight ptarmigan and a caribou, all with my Muchler drilling. I dropped the bull caribou with a single shot to the lungs with the 8x57JR barrel using a 200 grain bullet over 43 grains of IMR 4064.

Fantastic hunt! And the gun performed beautifully. I kept joking with my hunting buddy that my gun brought home ten trophies to his one.

            Rot,

Very generous offer there! I will offer my thanks....but probably won't ever make it. Your pictures.....just make me a little homesick for Wyoming. Gorgeous! Thanks for posting them.

Beautiful country and great hunting results. I left Alaska in 1984 and have only been back once (1989), I have enjoyed hunting with drillings for over 50 years.
