The attached photos are from a cape gun. The top of the rib is marked Innsbruck. The gun has a 16 gauge shotgun barrel. The rifle barrel is marked 6.8. Does anyone have any idea on what cartridge this takes? Any idea on who made the gun or year of manufacturer? Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

The gun was proofed for black powder by the Ferlach, Austria, proofhouse in 1911 as gun number 9787 proofed that year. As the Austrian proofhouses marked the groove Diameter, it seems to be a "6.5 mm", .264" bullet cartridge, maybe the 6.5x53R Mannlicher (Rumanian & Dutch)? You will have to make a chamber cast to determine the exact cartridge it takes. The gun was most likely made for retail by Peterlongo, Innsbruck, Austria by the Ferlach guntrade. Are the barrels really original to the action? The watertable does not show Austrian proofmarks, but the German eagle and crown/U marks. To me this looks like a post-WW2 mismatch.
