I have a drilling that I would like to determine the date
of manufacture. It was make in Suhl, GDR. The only
numbers other than the serial number, 12ga-70mm and
the rifle caliber are: 8258 on the rifle barrel and 1271
on the right hand shotgun barrel?????

If 1271 is among the proofmarks it reads December 1971.

Thanks, it does appear next to other proof marks. That makes it a little newer than I was told
when I acquired it.
