T R Any Idea?

I have a single shot shotgun, percussion. Only marks on it are the letters T.R. stamped into the stock in three different places. Does anyone know if these letters give away the origin of this gun. I am pretty sure it is German. 32.5" barrel, horn cap at muzzle, brass trigger guard & butt plate.

I'm pretty sure TR are the first owner's initials. It is well known that the former President TR used these initials a lot, but I'm sure this is not one of his.If you remove the barrel and post photos of any marks on the bottom, some of us may be able to help more.

There are no marks whatever on the bottom of barrel, or anywhere else. The letters are stamped in & uses two different sizes. Don't think an owner would do this, especially without marking the metal in some way. Maybe a hunt club or estate owned it? Jim.

Thanks, Mike. I was hoping the letters were a identifiable mark. Almost looks like a brand, from a hot die. Jim.
