Picked a couple of rifles and looking for some info on one of them; a Haenel Original Aydt schuetzen rifle in 8.15x46R, 48" OAL, 12lb 9oz. The reciever is inlaid Haenel Original Aydt, and is engraved with a cherub on the right and floral pattern on the left. The block is numbered 8865. The 31 3/4" octogonal barrel is in excellent condition, is fluted and has the sight groove. The underside has several proof marks to include: B w/ crown, G w/ crown, U w/ crown, 7.7mm, 4/25. The stock has a moderate floral scroll relief carving. The blued buttplate is numbered 6716. The peep sight appear to be matching with the key. Overall condition is very good with some light surface corrossion, close to 90%.
Hoping to get a date and fair market value should I sell it. Any background info would be appreciated as well such as the difference between this and the "system" model, etc. small pics attached, also see at https://plus.google.com/photos/10820...CLu40fPVlNbmQQ More pictures available if needed.
Thanks.
