Amazon has Wirnsberger's invaluable book (English edition) listed as available for under eleven dollars. Anyone who reads this forum should own one. They are out-of-print at the publishers and not likely to ever be printed again in English.

I ordered the book and it is a wealth of information. I regards to Doug's search the following link contains information on getting the DVD requiring 1.8 GB of free space and has cartridge information for all of Europe. Dixon's research is also contained as a part. http://www.ecra.info/start.php?main_cat=11&sub_cat=145 . It has far more info than what would be in the book and the database is updated and specimens that are found can be uploaded to be included in the database. All updates can be downloaded so you are never out of date. It also contains photo's and I believe loading data as well as the complete history of each cartridge. Cartridges can be searched by country, measurements or just by design. You can add your own notes as well and they will be included in the database. A friend of mine who collects cartridges has this database and it is simply overwhelming to me. I have taken photo's with my phone and sent them to him from gun shows and he identifies them and lets me know if he is interested. He can also send me photo's of what he is looking for. I don't know if something like this might be of interest, but I thought I would bring it to light. I will be going to the Tulsa Gun Show this Sat. and I will look for the book. I have acquired a grocery list - so to speak - of items to look for. If anyone wants me to search for something just send me a PM with contact info and I'll do my best to find it. I just hope my legs hold out!

I have both the Dixon and the ECRA data base. Both are very useful and have used both as late as today. You need to join one of the cartridge collectors groups to get a decent price on the ECRA data base but it is worth it. When in Tulsa, look for the GGCA tables.
