  • Frohn Tip up pistol.

Just bought a new (old) Frohn pistol. I have in in pieces at the moment but will post a couple of pictures tomorrow. Meanwhile ... Seems the thing was sld by on J. Hartmann of Lausanne. Can anyone tell me about him? Second, there is a Star H proof. What is it's significance?

Nice looking gun. Hope to fire it tomorrow too.

    Hello

I suggest this fellow. Could be wrong, though.

I suspect that is the fellow. Take a look at the inscription that appears on two of the flats of the barrel. At first I thought that this might be s dealer but I wonder if it was owned by the man.
Two different typefaces. Seems odd to me.

The star H mark is not a proof mark, which would be established by law. Rather, it it is likely a maker's or workman's mark and not established by law. There are various listings of some established maker's marks, but not of workman's touch marks.
