  • Need info on Buhag drilling

My Buhag drilling was made LORENZ KEINER, Suhl , Mar 1986. Its a Buhag Mod. 47.
The only references I have on Buhag models for a double rifle /drilling - "Druckjagd "
of the variety where the second rifle barrel is below. mention a model 46 BocKdoppelbuchsdrilling with no side plates. Mine has very elaborate gamescene engraved sideplates , and the greener side safety travels up and down ( like in a Sauer
3000 ) and not forward and back like the Buhag 46, or most other Greener safeties.
Several questions. 1. What to we know about Mr. Keiner. 2. what action would the 47 have used - ie Simpson, Sauer, Merkel , ?
Greatly appreciate any info on the above ?

    Nitsa,
Can you post photos of your drilling? Buhag was a combine that used different actions, and photos would help in determining which your's is based on. Please include photos of the proofmarks, although we normally deal with prewar guns. LORENZ KEINER would be a postwar gunsmith or dealer and one of our German members would likely be better able to help you.

I have an article from Dr. Fritze's book on Suhl gun makers that runs about five pages (German) but maybe you would just like to email him. LOKEI@t-online.de
