I want to know about the GECO GERMAN 12 guage DBBL Hammer shotgun. Wants To know about its Serial No, Proofing, Matel Used for Barrel, Chamber, Choke Level. Manafacturing Year and wheather its Nitro proof or others types of proofing.
1)Manily I want to know that the how many guns was Sales in India By Geco German ,
2) Serial no of these guns, sales in India 12 guage Hammer DBBL
3) manafacturing year, proofing, matel used for barrel Chamber length, choke level and wheather all guns sales in India are Nitro Proof.
Here In India I found on of Hammer DBBL and I want to Purchase it but the gun dealer in India are not reliable. So that AI am here for query about the guns.I Don't want to purchase the Damascus Barrel but in India Dealer had not Idea wheather the Barrel is Damascus of others types. AND the Indian gun dealer are very crooked. Indian shotgun are lead in very poor quality

To have a chance of answering your questions, it will be necessary that you post photographs of the gun, including photographs of all markings on it; the most important being of the proof marks and others found on the bottom side of the barrels. It will be necessary, then, to take the forearm and barrels off the gun. The GECO name is an abbreviation of Gustav Genschow &co., but the gun may have been made by someone else and marketed by them. I await your posting of clear/readable photographs.

Geco = Gustav Genschow & Co. was not a gunmaker, but a wholesaler. They had their own ammunition making factories, but no gunmaking of their own. They bought in "their" guns from the international guntrade, mostly from Liege in Belgium, but from Zella – Mehlis and Suhl too, and distributed them in Germany. They dealt in guns made for them by others from 1886 until 1962. During those 76 years they sold many guns of variable type and quality, but most often "economy grade" shotguns. They span all the time from damascus barreled, black Pons to modern nitro proofed ones. Most of their business was in Germany. God only knows how many of the Geco marked guns made their way to India, most likely not many. Without knowing the specific "Geco" marked gun and all of the proof- and other marks on it, it is impossible to tell anything about the age, origin or quality.
