I guess that is why they make different color pickup trucks, and there are more than one happy woman in the world. We all have different tastes. I would have kept it.

Mike, in retrospect, I should have. But I'm working my way up the multi-barrel ladder to Vierlings one of these days.

        Sam,
I too would like to have a vierling, even though I know they have their own problems, like any other type with two different caliber rifle barrels( Bockdrilling, Bergstutzen). If one of the rifle barrels is not adjustable for POI, you could likely not be able to change the loading from whatever it was regulated with. If the POI of one load changed, you could adjust the scope, but then it wouldn't match the other barrel. It was only recently that adjustable rifle barrels became available. This is why Krieghoff always favored einstecklaufs in drillings over vierlings.

Impractical and hard to regulate, of course, but aren't they works of art?

Yes, and a wonder of mechanical design as well as gunsmithing expertise to be able to make them work. To quote an old friend, no longer with us, they "turn my comb red".

Mike, did John Laborde ever look at this unique sideplate? Maybe Axel or Raimey might have an idea of what they are. Note: the left side has TWO of them.W-WEISGER-SIDELOCK-PRE-WAR-DRILLING-20X-20-X-219-ZIPPER_101009116_401_667D103B45DAAD0A.jpg
