  • Need help to find production year.

    I got a J.P.Sauer drillin in Caliber 16/16-10,75x52R . The Serial number is 39858.
    Someone in here that know anyting about this drilling an Caliber..

    If you post photos of the proofmarks on the bottom of the barrels, we will likely be able to help you.

        Thor,
        Your drilling doesn't have the markings I usually use to determine a proof date, so I believe it was produced sometime before March 1893, when these marks were required. Perhaps Jim Cate, our Sauer expert can help, based on the serial number, or other marks.

          Maybe 1892? It wears both the large & small crowns for quality & shooting performance as well as several process(processes) marks. You'll have to make a chamber cast to determine the cartridge.

            I have made a Chamber casting and this shows 10,75x52R Stright caliberr according to old drawings.

              Thor,
              There are a couple different 10.75x52R cartridges and you didn't give dimensions of the chamber cast. Based only on your statement that it is "Straight", I think it is the 10.75x52R Gruendig. It has other names, but that one is most common.

                I will make a New cast but the Chamber looks like it is straight taper.

                  It is likely your first assessment is correct, the other 10.75x52R has enough of a shoulder that it is not likely you missed it.
