H. Scherping Hammer drilling

For those with keen interest. I'll not swear by it but it seems that in issue 9 of Schuss und Waffe 1908 there is something on "Altmeister Scherping, Hannover". I repeat: I'll not swear by it.

If anyone should have the above issue I'd be interested in buying a copy of the article Der Stahl in der Waffenfabrikation.

The "V" over "U" you mention is actually a sidewise SS or S. Schilling stamp.

Well it took 4 to 5 hours of filing and fitting and it is tight and maybe even a little to tight taking it on and off, plus the scope may be tilted to the front a little. I will test it out this weekend.

If you can get it on and off, it is not too tight, I wouldn't lighten it up, it will get easier with time.
