Acera,
I understand about your cousin, it was the drawdown after Viet Nam that got me in a similar way. I'm sorry I didn't realize you didn't understand about the proofhouses being official. I should have explained it; it's a good thing Axel caught it.

No worries Mike, thanks for you help. I've enjoyed these conversations and trip down memory lane.
I also want to thank Kiwi_bloke, Axel E and Diz. I have learned so much in my short time here and a lot more than expected about the little shotgun. Upon reading quite a few of the other threads, I see a whole new world of gun collecting out there that I had not been previously exposed to. Pretty sure I will spend a lot more time at the gun show tables and racks in stores that have vintage sporting arms from the continent. So if anyone hits the Houston Gun Collectors Shows (HGCA), let me know your table, as I would like to stop by and introduce myself.
Good news is that I know of an excellent resource to refer folks, or ask future questions regarding German and European sporting arms.
I plan to lurk here often, and pick up as much knowledge as I can. Don't want to be one of those guys that drop out as fast as they dropped in, as I can tell this is a good group of folks to associate with.
Acera,
You seem to be interested in German guns, I think you benefit by joining the German Gun Collectors Assn. As a member, you would receive the GGCA's Publications ( Der Waffenschmied and Waidmannsheil, the titles are in German, but the text is in English), and would be entitled to a discount in the bookstore. You can find out about the Assn. from the main website of from Jon at 1-435-979-9723.
