I've recently picked up 2 drillings, both 16 ga over 9.3x72R One is a hammer gun in need of a new buttstock, other is a box lock gun in need of both shotgun barrels being replaced. I am dealing with a local stock maker to get a stock made for the first one. Now looking for a source for new 16 ga shotgun tubes.

Oren T,
Call up Lothar Walther's web site, I think they still have a US operation. It will be a little hard to find the section of the site that you are looking for, but they offer both shotgun and rifle barrels, already contoured for double guns and combination guns. These blanks will be a little more expensive than straight blanks, but given the work required to turn a straight blank; you can believe it is well worth the extra cost. There is an article in the special issue of DER WAFFENSCHMEID dealing with drillings. This article describes the rebuilding of one of my drillings, including the replacement of the barrels. I suggest you read(reread?) this article before you decide to do the work or have someone else do it. Your choice will come down to spending a lot of time and work, or a lot of money. I was able to do it because my good friends Walter, Fred, And Helmut helped and advised me and gave me access to their special craftsmen, through Walter's shop. I wouldn't have access to this in the states.
