Hi wondering if anyone can tell me what the "starting pistol" for the 1938 Olympics might be worth? I am not selling, offering or Brokering the gun..I was offered the gun to buy and want some idea what it's worth... Pistol-closeup_grip_right.jpgPistol-right.jpgPistol-under_barrel(2).jpg

WOW...and I was soooo impressed by the pistol I was drooling over the chance to own it...albeit Nazi I was reluctant to actually display it? ThanX I do appreciate your comment and unless someone here jumps up and disagrees I guess I will pass on it and save my excitement for another day.....

The Olympics were held in 1936 in Berlin....Secondly, the straight winged eagle & swastika did not become a type of proof mark for firearms, and starting pistols were considered non-guns and were not proofed, until 1938 on German weapons. Yes, I believe it is a fake also. Jim Cate; author of the SAUER pistol books, and author of SAUER'S Hunting and Sporting Guns Made Before 1945 book.
