The barrels were certainly made by Sauer & Sohn, as the 1893 German patent #70343 covers a mechanical joint of barrels to lumps that did not require high temperature brazing. Up to WW1 Sauer also sold parts to other gunmakers. The gun was proofed between 1893 and 1912 for a load of 2.5 gramm of Schultze powder, an early smokeless, and 28.3 gramm = 1 ounce of shot.
