  • Ned help on identification and value

Help with identification and approx. valueof Schuetzen.
I have a friend who owns a very nice Schuetzen rifle and is about to sell it. I have looked at it and prices around the internet, but this rifle is like none that I have seen. I know this: it is a Richard Mahrholdt and Sohn affiliated of Innsbruck, Tirol, Austraia. There is also mention of Waffenfabrik Peterlongo and Tirol gun factory. It is reported from to original owner to the current owner many years ago that it is serial number "1" and was in a photograph being shot at a match by an SS officer. This SS officer owned it and it got purchased by an American soldier after the war from the SS officer at a small price. I have taken tons of photos, but probably too many to post here.Click image for larger version. Name: IMG_3527.jpg Views: 2 Size: 35.5 KB ID: 2197Click image for larger version. Not sure if I can post photos or not on this forum. Thanks, RMikeM

Looks for me like an Suhler rifle. Marholdt was an big dealer in austria with good connections to suhl / germany.
The proof marks should tell more.
The story with the SS officer gives nothing in value. Do you have the pic where it is visible that an SS officer is shooting exactly this rifle? I have heard so much storys like this....
