Help Identifying Drilling

Wow! What a beautiful piece. I have almost the identical drilling though yours is in nicer shape. Not having yours under a lens, I would wager ours had the same engraver. Whoever did the restoration appears to have done an excellent job based on the pictures.
I would strongly recommend keeping it!

Wow...great gun and information at your thread! Thanks!
Honestly I'm just trying to help my parents identify it correctly, value it, set a reasonable sale price, and sell it. All funds go to them as I have no stake in this at all. Any help is greatly appreciated as antique firearms are not my norm.

Understandable, but I would like to give you a bit of advice if I may.
When I was 16 years old I started building rifles. AK's, FN-FAL's, a few AR's, you get the idea. I built lots of them. My grandfather would just shake his head, but always help if I asked.
Fast forward 10 years, I began to take an interest in OLD, FINE, well crafted arms. I purchased that Alfa drilling with my grandfather. Of that he was proud. He passed away a little over a year later. After he passed, I was not fortunate enough to inherit his collection. I did manage to purchase at auction one of his drillings, along with a Mannlicher Shoenauer. The rest were lost to the masses.
The advise I am hoping you take from this, is that you will always remember your grandfather, but you may not appreciate what he appreciated right now. You may grow to appreciate what he did, and more, because it was his. Everytime I take a look at that Alfa drilling I think of my grandfather and it sparks many memories about him.
Also, check your notifications in the top right corner. I sent you a private message. Please let me know you received it.

check, without actually having the drilling in hand that's a tough one. A range of value would be about as close as I expect anyone would want to get. You see them all over the map. I'll throw a range out there, $1500-$3000. Ultimately it will be what a buyer is willing to pay. Were it mine I would insure it for $3500. Bear in mind the above is purely my opinion....and worth what you paid for it.
