pilgrim,
If you want to use 308 cases fired in someone elses rifle, in your rifle, you won't need to fireform. You only need to FL size the cases and use them normally. Some self loading rifles may require sizing in "small base" dies. If you have military brass, it may have been fired in an oversized chamber. Such brass is useable after FL sizing and removing crimped in primers and the crimp(by reaming or swaging).Like Diz, I'm confused as to what problem you are trying to overcome.

I have mil. brass that I will resize, however, I have two different 308 rifles. I want to fire form the brass for one of these. After sizing how and what do I use to accomplish this? I wish to save powder and bullets. Sorry for not being more specific. thank you all for your interest, Pilgrim

pilgrim,
Once you have the brass sized, you can just use it as normal, and keep it separated for each rifle. There will be no need to make special fireforming loads, normal use will do what you want. We usually fireform cases when we want to make them conform to the chamber and the changes will be significant. In your case they will already conform closely.

pilgrim,
Is there are special reason that you want to fire form cases to the rifle before loading them? Is this for an extreme accuracy situation or very long range? Mike is correct about keeping the cases separated for each rifle after firing and this will do the same thing. You may also want to consider "indexing" them before shooting. That is putting the cartridge in the rifle with the makers marks to the 12 o'clock position before firing and always put them back in this position thereafter.
Thanks, Diz
