  • 16ga 2 9/16 Slugs

I read the thread from 2013 concerning Brenneke's importing 16ga low pressure slugs suitable for Drillings but cannot find this ammunition anywhere. Did it ever make it?

I am considering hunting this fall with my Grandfathers Sauer. Did anyone get any? Suppliers?

I believe Baumgarten & M-4 acquired them all?

Will Brenneke continue to import and offer 16ga low pressure slugs in 2.5 inch on a regular basis or is this just a one time offering?
Were at one time 2.5 inch Brenneke low pressure slugs offered in 12 b & 20 b?
          Thanks!

Actually brenneke America is assembling the components here in the US. The components are sent here from Germany. I believe the German Gun Collectors Association are the reason the US division convinced the German Corporate office there was a market for the 2 1/2" slugs in the US. I believe they will supply the 2 1/2" slugs as long as there is a demand. Don't know if they will be offering the 20 and 12 gauge in 2 1/2" though. I spoke to the great grandson of of the Brenneke who invented the slug design last year at the Shot Show in Las Vegas. I confirmed then that they were going to be available. I bought 12 boxes as soon as they came out but haven't shot one yet. I keep forgetting to take them along when I go to the range and shoot my drillings. I am not sure how these are loaded. When talking to Brenneke at the show I asked if these could be shot in my oldest black powder proofed drilling with the old steel barrels even if it had a tight full choked barrel. They empathicly answered yes as that is what the design of the slug was ment for. I was told not to shoot any other type of slug design though.

I found Ellett Brothers carries these 2.5 16ga slugs, my local shop marks them up quite a bit. They were about $11 a box.
