I am interested in determining value of a bolt rifle apparently built by Franz Sodia in Ferlach Austria. It is a Mauser action, .30-06 caliber. I don't know much about Mauser actions but, I know this one is not like the k98 actions, it does not have that usual cut out section on the left side of the action. Bohler Spezial barrel that is octagon out to end of stock then is round with a full length rib. Stock is a beautiful, highly figured walnut with a steel butt plate with a little snap open door holding 4 rounds behind it. The stock also has inletting on both sides. I believe the stock to be original it is also marked Franz Sodia, it is what I would call a Monte Carlo, American style with Schnabel foreend. Action and barrel have no engraving but, has polished/jeweled bolt and bolt release lever. 95% condition overall. 7-24-58 stamped on underside of barrel, is this date? Is anyone know current value of this rifle and where would be the best place to market? Any other information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim C.
