  • Walther Carabiner .22

I recently picked up a Walther Carabiner .22. This is the clip fed bolt action model that will fuction as a semi-auto when you lift the bolt. Mine is fully engraved with deep chiseled engraving. I was told it was factory original and that these were done up in this upgraded fashion as presentation pieces.

I have not been able to find much about them. If anybody out there knows any information that they would care to share, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to know when they were made, if in fact the engraving is factory, do collectors covet them, etc.... Below you will find some photo's.

Absolutely outstanding, i have never seen an engraved one.
There where two modells called I and II. Walther had an patent on the action, issued 1930 under the number 506921.

So based upon the forend groove and sights I have a Model II. By the way, 91 Reichmarks from 1930 was worth the equivalent of $21.71 in 1930 dallars.

Yes, what you have is an Model "II". I have several documents from Walther about this rifle, it is nowhere announced with engraving. For me it looks like that it is engraved directly by Walther, because the kind of the Walther address and place is different to normal.. So i think it is made in special order. Maybe it is of interest for you, the normal I and II models in good condition are around 400-500 euro in germany today. Quite rare are models with the original scope mounts, for this you can put 200-250 euro+.
As i said- i have seen a lot of them, but never an engraved one.
