  • Stock Maintenance Products?

I have started my semiannual thorough cleaning of my drillings and BBF's. Some of my guns have nice, original oil finishes, a few have been refinished with some harder finish of some kind. They are all hunting guns and see field time. Over the last few years, I've usually used Cotton Cleaner beeswax/lemon oil on the stocks. I have other products sitting on the shelf, but have used Cotton Cleaner products on antique restoration projects with really good results. I'm curious what others are using.

In 45 years of gun work, the best stock finish I've found is Brownells custom oil finish. I use the satin and work it to a sheen with linseed & rottenstone. Its a pu finish and some purists who like oil won't want it. But I've tried them all, and never liked oil finishes
