  • Where can I get one of these?

Need an adjusting screw for my Frtitz einstecklauf. Looks like @ 2mm allen head. Could make one, but these odd size screws, have to buy 100 of them and then turn the point on the lathe. Was hoping to find a source for the screws. Any help appreciated:
    Thanks,
    Greg

I would ask the maker first:
    http://www.keppeler-te.de/cms/pages/...pricelists.php
    or info@keppeler-te.de
Should not be too complicated or expensive to send some tiny screws to the USA

      Greg47,
You may try New England Custom Guns, you can find their contact info in the Trade Directory in WAIDMANNSHEIL. Failing that, you may consider using any 2mm screw of the right pitch, by cutting a slot, if you can't find an allen head. You are correct that to buy one from a "supply house", you might have to buy a whole box. On the other hand, a box of 2mm set screws might not cost enough to "break the bank" and you would have "spares" for other projects. BTW what caliber is the Einstecklauf? I just read Axel's reply, you may want to his suggestion first.

Thanks Axel & Mike, I sent an inquiry. And you might be right that it's worth to just buy a big box and machine the point on it, and have 99 spares ). MSC has the right size allen head metric screws.
It's a hornet form my T&S "Nimrod" drilling.
        Thanks again!

          Greg47,
The 22 hornet makes a great caliber for Einstecklaufs. All mine are in 22LR and Mag. and are the short ones. The full length ones, adjustable at the muzzle, were just being developed when I left Germany(early 82). My old friend Hans Zimmerman was the first. Regretably, they weren't ready to market then and I missed out. I would love to have one in 5.6x50R for my 8x57IRS drilling. I have used MSC(with satisfaction) but usually use Victor Machine Exchange, Inc.(WWW.victornet.com) or Enco when they stock whatever I need. I just checked the VME catalog and while they didn't show 2mm size(they may have them), but the 3mm-6mmlong ones are only $4.90/100. This seems reasonable to me.

Thanks Mike, Keppeler had them for 3 euros.. But required a cash or wire, check etc. So I had one of my German collector friends buy me a couple. I get some centerfire einstecklaufs in form time to time and sold a 5.6X50R/16 a few months ago. Keep an eye on my site. Classicsportingguns.com Or check back with me occasionally. What's your barrel length? 16 ga?

              Greg,
That particular drilling has 60cm barrels, but I have others and am not hung up on 60cm, if the price is right( caliber either).
