  • Any idea what these rifles were made for?

[IMG][/IMG]This is a "Tyrolean" type (not factory) stocked Walther KKM barreled action with open sights that are hand click adjustable and a globe front post sight. Obviously made for some type competition, Moving target maybe?? But I can't figure out what. Made in 97, there were 4 of themin my last shipment. Very comfortable to hold. Haven't shot it but the KKM's have all been very accurate shooters.

50 meter shooting at stationary targets. Until quite recently some regional or local, very traditional clubs insisted on "open sights only", no peep sights allowed in their special events.

Thank you Axel! That explains the open target type sights, that had me baffled. I'd love to compete in that kind of competition. I compete in muzzle loading matches every month, which is the closest thing here. I'm going to keep one of these for ML practice as they're a lot easier to clean & faster to load ). The rest are available. They are grooved on the receiver & barrel for other type sights & scope mts. But looks like this was the configuration they were used in.
