I found that Marholdt was the successor to J Peterlongo as a maker in Innsbruck. I found a 16 gauge SxS SN#57239 made in 9/25 per the stamp. Very plain model - probably a keepers gun, but in pretty good shape. Anyone have any idea whether they ever made any with browned barrels? This one has what appears to be browned barrels (well aged) and I was under the belief that only English makers used that finish. Will provide pictures when I get my hands on it next week.
