About a year ago I bought an einstecklauf from a gentleman in Florida, I believe. It is a Sempert-Kreighoff with a 10 inch barrel. Well, the adjuster slides were filed beyond use in the chamber of my Thieme & Schlegelmilch so I sat it aside until I had the time and desire to fool with it. About February I ordered the slides from Krieghoff, USA. My contact there was Elmar Bonn. If you need something from Krieghoff and are so fortunate as to have Mr. Bonn as your contact you are blessed. Anyway, he got the adjuster slides and forwarded them to me and they arrived this past Friday. to fit them to the insert took all of two minutes but then to fit the insert to the gun and sight it in. I don't think I did too bad for my first installation. In less than an hour and after approximately 30 rounds I had the thing sighted in and shooting cloverleaf groups at 25 yards, off a bench, with the groups falling directly beneath the front bead. I am quite surprised at the accuracy of the little thing. I am now ready for our squirrel season which opens in two weeks! I have the 16 bore, full choke left barrel, the right barrel with the 22LR insert and the bottom barrel in 9.3 X 75R Nimrod, (that's my stopper in the event an irate or wounded squirrel should charge).
As with about everything I do with German firearms there is someone to thank. Good ol' Mike Ford advised me on the fitting of the insert back when I first got it. Thanks Mike, yet again. And I hope and pray your recovery is coming along in leaps and bounds!
