Just picked up a pre WW I shotgun by Anton Ferdinand Korinsky of Erlangen. This is a nice quality boxlock with gold barrel rings & rib name, nice game scene engraving, side clips, cross bolt, cocking indicators, horn trigger guard & Funk style cheek piece on the butt stock. The Korinsky barrels are choked EF & F and it has a set of Schurk barrels choked IM/IC. Know he was in business until 1920 and was most famous for his drillings. Anyone have any additional information on him or his work?

Anton Korinski in Erlangen is documented from 1906 to 1918, when he sold his shop to Franz Leberecht, a competing sporting gun dealer and gunsmith in Erlangen, who had opened his shop in 1909. As Korinski advertized as a retailer of hunting- and target arms, ammo and handloading supplies, he almost certainly did not make your gun himself, but had it made and signed with his adress by the Suhl or Zella-Mehlis guntrade, if not in Ferlach or Liege. This was a common practice with all the German "country gunmakers". Photos of the proofmarks and other markings under the barrels and on the action would be helpful in determining the actual maker.
