Trigger identification

Jon,
I asked the same question, I was hoping that someone could identify this unique shaped single trigger as I have never seen one on a Scherping gun before & find it hard to believe that it was a custom design for 1 pair of custom guns? Seems unlikely to me. Seems like the form is unique enough that if someone had seen it before, they would remember.

Never seen such a thing on a German gun before! I have only a British patent with such a clumsy housing to offer: Edgar Harrison (of Cogswell & Harrison, London) 1895 patent # 4005. See the book by I.M.Crudgington & D.J.Baker, "The British Shotgun Volume 3, 1891-2011", page 59. At least, your trigger looks very similar to the one shown there. It is hard to guess from the outside appearance alone on a specific design. One has to take such a thing apart and look at the innards to know what makes it tick.Last edited by Axel E; 07-29-2013, 09:34 PM.
