Which one

As a schuetzen shooter, I have no experience with driiiings or combination rifles. Given a choice, would you choose a J P Sauer and Sohn or a Merkel. I am looking at my birthday present and can’t find a schuetzen I like.

I like both.
My current favorite is a Merkel over under (made in 1933) 16b / 9.3X72R with a Schmidt & Bender scope. weight around 8 lbs but has a 2nd set of barrels 16/16 weight about 6lb This become my deer gun(Ohio requires straight wall cartridges .357 or larger. The 9.3X72R has a diameter of .366".)

I have owned over 40 German sporting guns and none have been a Merkel or a Sauer. I buy what I like when I see it. No brand preference from me.
