  • I ain't dead...yet.

I've just been casting about for project and until recently had not found anything to pique my interest. I watched this rifle for a few weeks before I contacted the seller and made a deal. It arrived about a week ago. It was in excellent condition and didn't need anything except the en bloc clips. They are reproductions and had it not been for Axel I'd still be fighting them. I got it shooting and it shoots quite well and the clips work like new money.

I'd post pictures but my host died....or rather just quit...and I'm not finding another. However, here's the pictures from the ad.

    Hello

why would you need an image host in order to post pics? Here is a qoute from you from another site:

"This is the only site I belong to, that I peruse, that I can't post pictures from my computers."

Below is an image I post from my computer. I do not not need an image host.

You took that out of context and didn't finish the statement, Peter. How about telling the whole truth? Same goes for here.

Other than that, I apologize for being forgetful. Can you ever forgive my egregious sin?

"I apologize for no pictures. This is the only site I belong to, that I peruse, that I can't post pictures from my computers. If I can, I haven't learned how....."

          Vic,
I'm happy you are not dead. Nice rifle, good luck with it in the deer season.

I was not aware I am telling lies here. You best let me know in order for me to correct myself in past posts. Other than that, I am happy for your new skills as regards posting pics. I am even happier that you have finally understood that my name is Peter.

Also: now that you know how to post pics, how about starting a thread on your double rifle out of Erfurt. I hope I remember correctly that you have one. If I remember incorrectly I hereby apologize.

As I am not particularly computer savvy I was curious as to why you were not able to post pics from your computer when I am, was, and hopefully will in future. If I have upset you I recommend for you to have a cup of tea. Works wonders!

Peter, I didn't say you were telling lies. I said you took the statement out of context and didn't tell the whole of it, which you did by leaving off the qualifying caveat "If I can, I haven't learned how." I'm not particularly computer savvy either but, after your example I did learn there is an "attachment icon" on here and I knew what it does. The icons for functions are mostly a mystery to me and aren't the same from one site to another.

I will enjoy my glass of ice water. I'm not much of a tea drinker. One cup of green tea a day with lemon and honey is about all I can handle and, I only do that for its health benefits. It tastes much like I would imagine liquid dirt would taste. Black sweet tea, iced with lemon is tolerable. The wife likes it.

I do have a double either made or sold by "E. Goldmann in Erfurt." It's on the Lefaucheux action and chambered in 11.15 X 60R. I don't have many pictures of it and, as shown, my photography skills leave much to be desired. I will start a thread later.

Thank you Mike. No, not dead but I have some more war stories I could tell!! As a church friend asked me, "aren't you getting tired of providing them someone to cut on?"...lol!

Including a Garand, 35 or more years ago, this is my second experience with an en bloc clip and needless to say, this is nothing like the Garand. Axel straightened me out and now it's as slick as a hot knife through butter. I killed a deer, not last year but the year before with the Peterlongo in 9 X 71. That might be my last. The fire for hunting burns pretty low. If Joyce says we need the burger I'll go and frankly, killing one here is pretty easy so it will be the high side of harvesting and the low side of hunting.

So how you doin'? Well, I hope!
