  • Slings

I wanted to use an old sling with a older still german carbine and I found that the sling swivels are VERY narrow.. meaning that the thickness of the sling will not go thru. What should one look for to accommodate these girly swivels?

    EdinFlorida,
The answer to email the GGCA "home office" and order a "Quick adjusting sling" from them. German hunters did not typically use slings as shooting aids, but rather a carrying straps, hence the narrow sling swivels. The quick adjusting type has been my preferred type for many years. Once you are in whatever type blind or high seat you are using, it is easy to tighten the sling up and get it out of your way. Typical German sling swivels are attached directly to the barrel and using the sling as a shooting aid places unwanted pressure on the barrel and alters the bullets point of impact.
