  • Gustav Richter - any info?

A pal of mine asked me about a Mauser sporting rifle, guessed at inter-war period marked as Gustav Richter. I cannot find that as a gunmaker in any of my standard directories, has anyone any ideas or info on him please?
    Many thanks

Found two gunshops named Gustav Richter.
First,Gustav Richter in Breslau, Silesia (now Wroclaw, Poland), gunsmith and -dealer, shop founded 1838, mentioned 1891 and 1905.
More likely: Gustav Richter, Muenzstr.8, Schwerin in Mecklenburg, gunmaker to the court of the grand duke of Mecklenburg – Schwerin, mentioned 1925, 1930
Photos of the rifle, the proofmarks and all inscriptions would be helpful for identification.

      Hello
Gustav Richter, Hofb?chsenmachermeister, Schwerin. Still around in 1938. Werkstatt/shop at M?nzstra?e 8Hh. Entrance from Torweg. He resided at Werdestra?e 27b.

      I, too, would appreciate images.

That is very kind and most helpful - Suspect its Breslau, but awaiting pics and confirmation.

        V much appreciated.
