Cartridge I can't tell, but here's the bore diameter. I assume several cartridges are possible.

EDIT: according to the GGCA main page 108/49 is "very common on [nominal] 9,3 mms".

When found on one of the nominal 9.3s of various case length, the groove diameter is often .362- .364". The most likely cartridge would be 9.3x72R ( either "D" or "E" ) version, due to the numbers made , but a chamber cast would ID the actual one.

I finally talked the guy into making a chamber cast and it appears to be the 9.3 X 72R. Now he knows everything and I can't persuade him to slug the bore.
