  • Schuetzen barrel threads

Long time away. I've acquired a Buchel type rifle action that i intend to make into a cast bullet bench rifle, replete with heavy barrel, 3" fore end and bench rest butt stock. Before I approach a local smith for the barrel threading, was there a standard type threading of these, and other German actions or are each unique.
    Thanks,j

    Mike,
If I understand you correctly, you have a bare action. If this is true, your gunsmith can determine the shank size and thread pitch by direct measurement from your action. It may or may not be a metric pitch and the thread form could be either 55 or 60 degree included angle "V" form or less likely Whitworth 55 degree. Mausers are 55 degree, but 60 degree threads are commonly used and are satisfactory. If you have the whole rifle, I suggest you shoot it "as is".

Just curious, is it a Meister or Luna or a different one.
