    Jim,
The GGCA has merchandise, sourced from AKAH, for sale. AKAH likely has what you are looking for, maybe if you could get an order together they would agree to stock some to sell the members. I personally use the type that has space for three rifle cartridges in the middle with a shotshell on either side and five 22 LR/ Mag/ or Hornet on the flap. The flap had a snap closure and there are two belt loops on the back. I don't use the belt loops, finding it more convenient to snap the flap around the sling for storage and carry it in the handwarmer pocket of my jacket/coat while actually hunting. During the hunting season, this keeps the proper ammo with the drillings, so when I chose the drilling it has the ammo automatically with it. During the off season, you should remove the ammo to prevent verdigris from forming. For Kipplaufs and Bolt actions, there are "wallets" holding five rounds and I use them in a similar manner. In my unverified opinion, there should be a market for these among the members.

Ooh, I like that -- this site has the AKAH Universal Case for less than AKAH (oy, but the shipping...)

AKAH Universal Case at Holsterwelt.com (click for link).

        edit to add:

I like the first one listed better! I've sent an inquiry to see if they will ship to the States - If so, maybe OhioChuck and I can coordinate "one order" (for 2 cases) imported from DE with the shipping to the other done upon receipt...

Here is the email reply I got from Frankonia about that first item listed up above...

          "Many thanks for your message.
The minimum order value for a delivery to the USA is 250,-€ and the shipping costs would be 50,-€."

Nicht so gut! But I understand the logistics...

            Update...

I've reached out to a custom leathermaker and will find out what it would cost to make up 1 or a small lot of these Drilling Ammo Pouches.

The challenge with a "lot" (of 3 or 6) would be the possible mix of gauges and calibers (my need is 16ga X 8mm Mauser X 22 Mag -- yet the use of elastic-material for shell loops might help on this) and I'll report back soon.

              Old No 7,
Great, and I think it is great that you took the initiative to do something like this. I have been using these for many years and have a couple suggestions, if you disregard them, my feelings won't be hurt. If you put one shotshell on each side of three centerfire cartridges, and five or six rimfire rimfire loops on the cover(with the front and back sewn together on the sides); then you can put it in your jacket pocket with the cover open and folder back. This allows you to reload on a stand, by feel, while watching the animal. It also works in a hand warmer muff or a pocket on one, as well as a shelf in the stand. Sewing the front and back together gives the option to carry something else, like a key for an einstecklauf or extra truck key. The ones I use have the shot shell and centerfire loops in leather and the rimfire loops from elastic. Candidly, I think it would be better if all loops were elastic. While I always found it, I have had ammo fall out of mine over the years. I think shot shell loops wide enough for 12 ga, would hold 16 or 20 ga. shells fine, if elastic ( all my drillings are also 16 ga). I never found myself short of ammo the entire time I have used these. In the early years in Germany, I hunted on a revier where we walked to high seats to sit for Reh ( maybe pigs) and when it was time to come in, we would meet in the woods and have a short drive hunt back to the cars. For this, I had a separate carrier for eight shot shells, in my rucksack, otherwise out of the way. For other combination guns, I use the same carriers, but when hunting with single shot or bolt guns, I use carriers for only rifle ammo. If this doesn't help much, don't worry about it, trust your own judgement.

                Great feedback Mike!

Thanks for sharing -- I can appreciate your perspective and it's great that it comes from one who's actually used these, not just "thought about it" (like um -- "me"!) I have been in touch with a couple of leather-workers and I need to finalize a design. What you've described matches well with this style (image below), as sold by AKAH.

I "might" (key word) try to commission the leather guy to make 3 or 5 of these -- with the thought of keeping one, and selling off the others here (if that is allowed). Not to make a profit per se, but to cover the postage and item costs only, and I may get a better per-piece price by ordering more than one, so that helps me too.

More to come on this -- but be advised it may be a "winter project" for me, not just a "fall" one (due to "work" -- the bane of hunters and shooters worldwide...)

PM me if anyone reading this "might be" interested in this.

                  Old No 7,
That is precisely what I was describing, mine have belt loops on the back but I have never used them though. I just fold the "flap" back (with the RF cartridges backward from those shown, so they will be "rim up" when the "flap" is folded back in a pocket) and carry it in a pocket. As far as selling them here, there is a WTS/WTB forum here, precisely for that. If you are a member and the sale is not for commercial purposes, I don't think it is prohibited.
