I went and did it. Real novice bungle, I‘m sure.
I have a Rigby Mauser stalking rifle in 7 x 57 mm with an AGA aperture sight on the cocking piece. Attempting to adjust for elevation, instead of going “two-blocked”, or stopping, while turning it to the right, it unthreaded, and I end-up with a disassembled mechanism and a couple of minute pieces in my hand.
I can not figure out the re-assembly; just don't know when pressing something into place may strip threads. .
Any suggestion.? I do not have a camera but here's a photo of a similar AGA sight I found online.
