Cast off

I was reloading my kleinkaliber rifle today,I noticed the stock did not look straight. When I got home I measured it, sure enough it is cast off to the right about 3/8 to 1/2 inch. Not a great amount, does anyone know a reason for this small cast off.

Mike,
Cast off is pretty common, especially on custom made guns, it helps align the gun with the eye. Some times you find "cast on" for left handed shooters. I would guess most modern production guns would be made with a straight stock. This is subject to contradiction by a stock maker or anyone else "in the know".
