  • German Traditional Hunting Clothing

I have been looking at Ebay, there is a store called German Wear that I have been looking at for traditional Hunting, Dress, Dinner wear outfit.
What sort of jacket, Trousers, shirt, tie, etc. should I be looking at that would be appropriate for modern wear at a hunters dinner, and also should I attend one, a GGCA booth or event.
I would assume for Traditional/ Modern field use My Green wool LLBean Guide coat, Wool cargo pants would go fine. Do hunters wear the Green wool, small brim, "dress style" hat in the field or really whatever headgear for cold weather we wear here?
Jon Spencer in an email said "Remember-Green"
    Thanks Guys!

Thanks Mike for the Frankonia address. Perhaps Frankonia will be my guide. I have a thick, print catalog about 30 years old that is still my "Wish" book!
There are so many styles of Dress jackets which is why I turned to the GGCA members for help. I would like something that perhaps would not look out of place at a restaurant in Germany/Austria and not "Octoberfest" costume-y.
Judging from the photos I see in various German,Czech,Austrian hunting books and Euro hunting magazine articles. I guess that for field use, Just like I hunt with here, (LL Bean Maine Guide coat, LL Bean wool hunting trousers or 10X briar pants) Warm, comfortable Green wool or Hi-Tech clothing is the norm.

        Marko,
I think you are pretty much right. They seem to have changed "styles" since the last time I hunted there (1981). Then we would wear green, brown, or grey; now I see more camo and have learned from Axel that they have to wear "red"(maybe some other visible color) on "social" hunts, with over a certain number of hunters. It seems, there is always someone ready to change what we do to comport with what they think should be done. Hunting clothes was one thing, but for Jaegerfests, etc. we wore hunter style suits/ties. They didn't look out of place in the gasthaus, but neither did the hunting clothes. We (hunters) even wore our hats in the gasthaus, traditionally.
