  • Is J.P. Sauer moving back to Suhl?

A German-born gentleman at a Thanksgiving party told me he had heard that Sauer & Sohns was slowly returning to Suhl from Schleswig-Holstein. The Sauer web-site does not mention this nor do they post a phone number. Has anyone other information on this?

Sauer & Sohn is now a part of a large company composed of Mauser and another gun company. I would imagine 'corporate' decided to start anew in a different location.

As far as I know, Blaser, Sauer and Mauser are owned by the same parent company or person. Heym is owned by Franconia (the chain gunshop). The Mauser M03 rifles are builed in Isny but the M98 models are made by G. Prechtl at his firm "GOLmatic". Heym was in discussion with a German-borm gunsmith in British Columbia, Canada, to bring back a new magnum (or as they called it "express") model. My information might be a bit outdated so any updates or corrections, I would apprecaite if you gentlmen plesae point out.

          Regards,
          -Omid

The Canadian maker is probably Hagn.
