Welp, I have a drilling so chambered on the way. Shotgun the typical 16 bore choked full and full on this one. It is a Carl Lewerentz and that's all I know of it so far. Now for the question. I know lots of you guys have worked with the 9.3 X 72 and it has a good reputation. So far I've been unable to find 9.3 X 72R brass, can it be made from 9.3 X 74 or is there a source I've not found? Seems I read somewhere 9.3 X 74 could be used as a parent case. If not, what would be a parent case? I'm assuming a bullet weight of around 200 grs., is 220 too heavy? The drilling is Nitro proofed I am told but I expect I'll be using black, certainly at first and until I run it through my chrono.
Any readily info available on Lewerentz? Was he a retailer or maker? Suhl, Zella-Mehlis, elsewhere? It may be here as early as late next week and I'll post pics.
I don't remember exactly who recommended to me this site or piqued my already too fervent interest in German firearms but it's getting expensive....I hope you're happy....I'm having a ball!!!!
