My wife gave my adult son and I a hog hunt at Independence Ranch in Texas for Christmas. Decided to take my Steyr Scout and '05 Steyr M/S for guns. Son will take an R25 Remington (AR10) in .308. The M/S is a 9X56mm and probably will be a pig killing machine. Has a QD scope mount with Leupold low power variable on it. I have Hawke 245 gr bullets in .354" diameter. Also some Kynoch 9X56 with 245 gr copper washed lead RN. The bullets have a steel jacket. They look quite businesslike. I may use them instead of my reloads. Also have some Hawke bullets in same weight to load. The man I bought the M/S from was quite a gentleman. And of course he is from Texas. Will post photos when we come back some time in February or March. Safe shootin' to y'all. Packrattusnongratus

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope it isn't like shooting somebody's farm animals. The photos on the website look great. There was a You Tube though that had a 570# boar a guy shot right by the bunkhouses. People were talking in the background and the boar paid no attention to them. The boar looked like one my FIL used to have for breeding purposes. Ack! All the other hunt films looked more realistic. It will be a good time though. Looks like the bunks are nice and the chow hall looks great.Last edited by Packrattusnongratus; 01-03-2019, 04:34 PM.
