Shot my '03 a couple of days ago. The prvi ammo was tight and the bolt lift after the shot was a bit tight but not as bad as loading. It was 156 gr semipointed and didn't feed well either. I think anything other than round nose will be difficult. The primers looked great with no signs of problems. I think I will try the virgin brass from both Norma and Prvi and see the length and whether it chambers easily or not. I also have Norma loads to shoot but it was too close to deer season and the crazies were out. I'm wondering if the chamber is short or what? Tight neck maybe. Ideas from you guys? Things to check? TIA. Packy

Packy,
I suggest you carefully smoke the bullet/neck and shoulder of a cartridge and chamber it, to see where the interference is. It wouldn't hurt to slug the barrel and measure a bullet pulled from one of the cartridges. I understand most commercial 03s had .264-.265" barrels and Military Greek 03s had .268-.269" barrels. Prvi has .268" bullets for the 6.5x52 Carcano, it would be interesting to see if they use the larger bullet in the MS ammo, intending it for the military rifles. Oversize bullets may be a problem if they make the neck too tight to release the bullet. Given the way the MS magazine is made, it is hard for me to see how simipointed bullets could cause feeding problems, but I have heard that before.
